There has been much debate on how to hang pictures and/or wall art. Here are a few professional pointers that you can follow to give your room that designer quality.
Pictures Should Hang Just Above Eye Level: Eye level should be determined by the primary use of the room. Generally the rule applies that if the room you are in people usually are seated, then it is eye level from a seated position. If you are in a hallway where people are standing then eye level is from the standing position.
Creating A Group of Art or Pictures is a Great Way to Create a Focal Point for the Room: Map out a design of your pictures on the floor first, be creative, try different options. The trick to designing how your art should be displayed can be summed up in one word...Balance! Use a measuring tape to ensure that the space between pictures that are hanging together in a row is the same. Two medium pictures on the left can be balanced with a large picture on the right. Remember, do not leave large amounts of space between the pictures - creat one focal point
Add Lighting to Your Arrangement: Lighting is a great way to add focus to your art display and bring more attention to it.
Remember to Balance Out the Room: If you have a large wall unit on one side of the room, balance the opposite wall with large art work or a combination of pieces to create a large section - balancing the room. If you hang a photo beside a small sized lamp, make sure the photo is small to medium size so you don't overpower the setting.
